My Day

My husband has been really busy lately. Work and everything has been crazy. He has not had time to do much around the house the last few weeks. We are having a church picnic at out house on Saturday. There is nothing like having a large group of people over that gets you to weed the garden, mow the lawn, and clean the house.

We live on 43 acres. We mow the two acres or so right around the house. I mow the lawn sometimes but my husband usually does it because it bothers my allergies. Today I had planned to surprise him by mowing the lawn. I had hoped he would come home to a nicely mowed lawn. Well, after 3 trips around the yard the lawn mower quit working. I thought it was out of gas but no, it just quit. So instead of coming home to a nicely mowed lawn he is coming home to a broken riding mower. :( I just hope it is an easy, quick fix.

Sorry, this post has nothing to do with cooking. :)

  1. I am jealous of your 43 acres and your fabulous view out your kitchen window. Here in OR (in the Portland metro area where we need to stay because of hubby’s job that he loves) a 2000 sq ft house on 1 or more acres starts at $450,000. To get a house with enough bedrooms for my brood of 4 kids and 3 or 4 acres (what I really want) starts at $500,000 and that is with a house that would need some updating!!! We looked at houses and decided it was better to stay put. I love my house, just not my neighbor, and I’d love land to plant berries, fruit trees, etc.

Did you get the lawn mower fixed? Hope the party goes well. Good luck.

  2. Yes, we got the mower fixed. It ended up just being the battery. I was so thankful for that. A pretty cheap fix considering and I mowed this morning. Although I miss OR and all my family the one advantage of living where we do is the lifestyle we are able to have. By that I mean house and property. Both my husband and I realize we could never afford the house and 43 acres we have anywhere near Portland or probably all of OR for that matter. I love living in the country and although living in this part of the country has some downsides, I have come to really like it here. I try to remember that when I am missing OR. I hope I never have to give up our country livestyle.
