Heath Milkshake

I posted this a few weeks ago but decided to link to it for Thirsty Thursday. I hope you enjoy.

Last week my husband, and I wanted milkshakes. We wanted something good like a Dairy Queen Blizzard, or a Sonic or Braum’s milkshake, but the problem with living in the country is there is not an ice cream place on the next corner. No, we have to drive fifteen to twenty miles to get to one. This is just not practical.

We have found though that we can make some pretty good milkshakes at home. We have gotten creative with flavors, and the things we put in them. When we wanted milkshakes last week, I decided to try these.

We both love Heath bars. We think just about anything with toffee and chocolate is good. I only had vanilla ice cream, so I thought the bits of Heath would be good mixed in. I was right. This was one of the best homemade milkshakes I have ever made. I mixed up the milkshake and added in the heath bits right at the end. This was so good. If you like heath bars, you need to give this a try.

I love Heath bar too…I could put ’em on my salad : D

  2. When I read the title of the post I thought it said “Health.” So as I started reading I was wondering what those “healthy” brown bits were in your milkshake. Then I realized it was “Heath!” LOL!! Looks delicious. :-)

  3. Anne, I wish they were healthy. :)

  4. Like another commenter, I read Health instead of Heath! I was a little disappointed, I would LOVE a recipe for healthy milkshakes.
Oh, and I miss Braums so much, I lived near them when I was little, and but haven’t been to one in probably 10-15 years.

Thanks for participating in Thirsty Thursday. I hope others are encouraged to join in. I’m going to ask hubby if he likes Heath… not sure I know that about him. If he does, we’ll be sure to try this on our next milk shake night.

Ohhh… I adore Heath blizzards. I used to say that as soon as I was pregnant, I was going to demand one every day. : ) Of course, I got so saddled with sickness and nausea, that wish never came true. Great to know I have a recipe to try at home now! Especially since we, too, live 17 miles from town…
