I really like the look of stoneware style dishes. I especially like Fiestaware, I have for a long time. I just like the look. I love all the colors and options you can do by mixing and matching them.
I own a lot of different stoneware style pieces, most of which are inexpensive pieces that I have picked up here and there over the years. Last week though I found a group of used Fiestaware for a really good price. I was thrilled. I really do not think the lady knew what she had.I found them for a lot more online then I paid.
Now, these would not have been my first choice for Fiestaware. I like the dark colors since they match more with my house and style. But these were a great deal for what they were so I decided to buy them.
All of these colors are retired from what I can tell. I think they must be about twenty years old but I am just guessing on that. So, here is what I got.
I love it. I love the extras I was able to get like the serving bowls, pitcher, and gravy boat. I don’t plan on using these for everyday dishes. I prefer plain dishes, like white or ivory, for my main set. However, this will give me plenty of dishes for when we have company. My kids like having the option of eating off the colored dishes. However, my son will not eat off a pink plate, he says a boy should not eat on something pink. 
Maybe, I should try serving him chocolate cake on a pink plate. He might just eat that off of a pink dish. My girls though love all the colors. I think the extra serving pieces will also get a lot of use.

One of the things I like about Fiestaware is that you can keep adding to the set. I look forward to doing that over time. I doubt I will find as good of a deal as I did this time though.

I would love to start a Fiesta ware collection of the dark colors. I just can’t justify it, but if I run across an amazing bargain maybe I’ll start.

Great find!! I mix and match my fiesta ware with my unikat polish pottery and it works really well. I’m with you on the dark colors, things like heather, peacock, turquoise, juniper…

These are the same Fiesta colors I have. They were purchased new sometime in the last 12 years. (I remember the house we were in when I got them, and we moved there in 1996.)

OmGosh! What a terrific find! I love it too. How great that you can enjoy so many pieces and I’m so with you. I think your son may very well eat off the pink plate if it was chocolate cake he was eating. lol!

Awesome! You and I have the same idea when it comes to our dishes. I looked for years after we got married until I found similar dishes as yours. I love them. The mix-and-match thing is awesome for us, because we tend to break on occasion and it is easier to fill in with other pieces we find along the way, than trying to find the exact piece. Great post!

Beautiful photo of the Fiestaware, Lynn–I love it, too. When I was a small child, my grandmother had Fiestaware in a variety of bright colors. When visiting her, it was always fun for me to choose which color dish I wanted to use. Much more interesting than my mother's traditional white & gray table ware!
As a bride, when I chose my dishes, I followed my mother's recommendation and chose lightweight Corelle. After my children were grown & gone, I treated myself to Fiestaware. I have service for nine (3 each turquoise, rose and periwinkle) plus many extra pieces in those colors. They matched my decor when I bought them, but not now, unfortunately. Any suggestions on finding a new home for them? Are there any Fiestaware collector sites where I could sell them? Replacements offered me about $1 per piece and I would have to cover shipping. Would like to find a good home for the pieces, but I can't afford to give them away. Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Ruth M

Since I am not big on the collector part of fiestaware, I am not sure about selling it. I just like it, so I use it. I am sure you can get more then a $1 a piece though. Ebay has some of the pieces for quite a bit so you might try that. You could sell it piece by piece or as like 4 place settings. Also maybe try craigslist in your area. Someone may be like me and just wanting to add some to a collection. I hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by.
