I was not able to do much baking last week, but I hope to have more time this week. I have several recipes that I would like to try.
I was able to get chicken on sale last week, so you will see that on the menu twice. One of the stores in my area advertised a good deal on chicken. The ad said “fresh chicken.” I went to the store, and I could not find the chicken that was on sale. I found someone that worked in the meat department and asked him about it. He took me to where the sale chicken was, and it was frozen. I said, “No, I mean the chicken that is on sale.” He replied, “This is the chicken on sale.” I showed him the ad and said, “I want the fresh chicken.” He said to me, “This is it. This is fresh, freshly frozen.” Then he walked away.
I guess the meaning of fresh has now changed. I did buy the chicken anyway, because it was still a pretty good deal and I wanted chicken, but I think that was a little misleading of an ad. Fresh should be fresh, not frozen.
So here is my meal plan for the week including my freshly frozen chicken.
eggs and applesauce bread
yogurt and applesauce bread
whatever else I can come up with
steak, bread , and vegetables
oven roasted chicken, rice and vegetables
crockpot chicken and dumplings
Pioneer woman’s Pork Roast, beans, and tortillas
out or breakfast for dinner
