Paula Deen’s Mac and Cheese

by Lynn

Life As Mom is having a comfort foods recipe swap. She posted about her favorite Macaroni and Cheese. That got me thinking about my favorite Mac and Cheese, and no it is not come in a blue box by Kraft. In fact my kids are so spoiled with home made food they do not liked the boxed stuff. They would much rather have the real stuff.

I thought I had posted about this before, but I could not find the post. So, if I have mentioned this recipe before, sorry. Maybe you will enjoy reading about it again.

We really enjoy this recipe. It is more of a southern style mac and cheese since it contains eggs and sour cream. But I like the texture those two ingredients give it. And it is a Paula Deen recipe, so of course she adds something like sour cream to make it a little different and special.

I adore Paula Deen and love her recipes. Thank you for sharing such a nice comfort food. My grandbaby thinks there is no other food but mac and cheese!

I have never had it with eggs. Does that make it more custard like? And can you bring me some? ;)

Fishmama, I guess custard like is the best way to describe it. It makes it thicker instead of just a sauce. And if I live closer I would bring you some!

I love this recipe! I used to make it a lot. Te only thing to look out for is curdling the eggs when you put in the pasta. I did that the first time I made this. Just add the pasta slowly and it will bring up the temp of the eggs. Thanks for reminding me about this recipe!

I love your blog.
