Lynn, I just made these today (well, last night!) and they were sooooo easy! It took me less than ten minutes to whip up everything and then just normal waffle-making time to make them this morning. I have been trying to find a yummy whole-wheat waffle that my kids actually liked and these were a hit (prior to that, lots of flops)! My daughter asked "So Mom, are these going to replace the ones you buy at the store? They're really good!" Yay! BTW, they made eight 7-inch regular (not Belgian style) waffles. The extras are going into the freezer for even easier mornings. Thanks so much!

@Jessica Wolf, I am not sure on the exact amount of waffles. I guess I have never counted, but I have 3 kids and this is about the perfect amount for my family. I usually melt the butter, I will edit the post to say that. I should have had that in the recipe, so thanks for asking. I hope you enjoy them.

About how many waffles does this recipe make? Also, for the 1 stick of butter... should that be softened or melted? Thanks! I can't wait to make these for my family!

[...] This unfortunate incident overshadowed the happiness I felt when my husband brought this home from a recent trip. This Belgian Waffle Maker has been on my wish list for months, if not years. The best part about this waffle maker is that it was free. My husband bought it with hotel points from his trip! Our family loves waffles but my waffle maker was old and it took about 10 minutes per batch of waffles. My new waffle maker takes 3 minutes per waffle! I cannot wait to try out Lynn’s overnight waffle recipe. [...]

One thing I do so that we have a hot breakfast in the morning (only one of my kids likes cereal) is to mix up muffin batter the night before. I put it in the muffin tin and cover it with lightly-greased saran wrap. In the morning, all I have to do is pop it in the oven.
I also have a scone recipe that I keep in the freezer. The morning I want to make them, I just add buttermilk and a little dried or fresh fruit. In the morning it only takes about 5 minutes to whip up since most of the ingredients have been put together before.

Thanks for the waffle recipe. I'll have to try it!
