Asian Salad Dressing

One of the main things I have been doing over the last year to cook healthier is to avoid processed and packaged foods. I have been able to really decrease the amount of these items that I buy.

I have tried to find homemade versions of our favorite things. One of the things that I have been making is salad dressing. It is really easy to make and does not take long to make.I am finding that my family enjoys the homemade salad dressings as well, if not better than, the store bought ones. I like homemade ones because they are much cheaper and much healthier. I can control the amount of sugar and salt that go into them.

When I first started to really read the labels on things I was quite surprised by the amount of sugar, salt, corn syrup, and preservatives that are in store bought dressing. Read the label on a bottle of ranch or italian dressing sometime. It will surprise you.

This recipe is adapted from the Pamper Chef recipe that is on my Measure, Mix, and Pour. I love the Measure, Mix, and Pour. It makes making salad dressing even easier. But you can make this using a bowl and a whisk just fine. Just whisk it up well, before using on salad.

We ate this last week on steak salad. I had some left over steak that I sliced up and placed in the salad. It was so good and it went really well, with this dressing.

I looks amazing, but 1.4 *cup* of ground ginger? Seems like a lot, and we love and adore ginger.

We love Asian Dressing and buy it in the store a lot. I’d love to try this!

Use 1 tsp or so (to taste) of Sesame Oil. It adds a great flavor.
