We have had rain and more rain here in Oklahoma. We had 21 days of rain. Now, it did not rain all day, everyday, but it rained at least some each day, and some days it was heavy rain. What does that much rain do to a garden. It makes it grow, but the problem is the weeds go also.
See how many weeds I have. I think I have more weeds then plants.
We have had a few nice days, or at least days where we got very little rain. I am glad because the garden has dried out and is not as muddy. So, guess how we are spending the weekend. Yes, working in the garden, pulling weeds.
The good news though is that all the rain was good for my plants. My zucchini is growing well, and I have already picked a few small ones.
My tomatoes are also doing well. They are growing rapidly and I hope we will have tomatoes by the end of June.
Now that you have seen my garden full of weeds, please tell me your garden looks just as bad.

Yes, ours does!!! Same with all the flower beds. Your garden is a LOT bigger than ours.

I just planted mine so I’ll let you know. I bought this cool little took for weeding. It’s a metal square on the end of a long handle and you run it through the ground. It pulls the weeds right out.!!
I always try to remind myself that a healthy bunch of weeds means you’ve got good soil. And ours looks just as bad if not worse. Why do the weeds have to grow so much faster than the plants?? And why must there be so MANY of them!?
Which reminds me, I should be heading out there now to get some weeding done…beh.

I have a tiny part in my yard but weeds love it. I’m always pulling up weeds. LOL!
Yes–we are in the same boat! Tons of rain here as well. We were gone over Memorial Day weekend, and when we came back there were SO many weeds that you could barely see my plants! I couldn’t believe it, but my plants are getting big, so I’m not complaining. Although I have lots of work ahead!
