The deep dish part is mainly because the crust is so much thicker and deeper than a normal pizza. Normally this same amount of dough would be rolled/presses out to make 2 thinner pizzas on pizza pans. You make the dough and press it into ONE 9x13 pan and pour sauce and toppings over and the crust ends up coming up over the toppings to make it deep dish?? Or do you use 2 pans?
