Thank you so much for your efforts! This morning, I found it -- and, dumb me, it was Food NETWORK magazine. Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase.

@shannon, I looked through my sept, oct, nov, and dec of the issues of this year and could not find it. Could it have been an older issue than that? And have you checked Martha's website, they post a lot of the recipes on it? Maybe if you can tell me more about the recipe or the exact title I might be able to help more. Sorry.

You may just be my new best friend! I'm trying to find the fish and chips recipe in a recent issue (I don't subscribe, but saw it in a doctor's office waiting room --- should have torn it out!). I think it was Oct, or Nov. The "chips" were made with red fingerling potatoes. I'd appreciate any help.

What a great idea to get magazines! I like to watch Amazon's magazine subscription specials and only subscribe to magazines that I can get for $5/year or less. I think I am getting about 8 different magazines right now. For cooking I have really been enjoying Southern Living, which is funny because I live in the Mid-West :)

Cooking Light! It contains recipes that are almost always completely from scratch. The recipes even use real butter and eggs most of the time. They have just been adjusted to be lighter and healthier than typical. The magazines contain a mix of fancy and simple meals, as well as sweet treats and breads.

What a neat idea on how to get favorite magazines! I have never checked out that particular magazine but will be sure to now. I love finding new recipes to try. I am enjoying your site.

My favorites would be Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country. I love the way they scientifically test the recipes and their directions are very precise so I'm less likely to mess it up because I misunderstood something.

Definitely Everday Food, Taste of Home (especially the special issues, like Christmas, etc), and Canadian Living too. I like the annual cookbook that Better Homes & Gardens puts out too.

My favourite cooking and life magazine would be Canadian Living. Its been around my house since I was little, and theres just something about it that feels like home. And recently, they've been including more and more GF stuff, so that doesn't hurt!
