How Ebates Saves Me Money

I am not out shopping today. Did you go shopping today?

I avoid shopping on Black Friday. Seriously, I hate to go out on shopping on a day like today and fight the crowds. It is just not me. I have tried it a few times and I did not find that it was worth the traffic, the crowds, the headache, etc. I also found I was tempted to buy so much more than I really planned too, because there were good deals everywhere. I know many of you enjoy shopping on Black Friday, but it is just not for me.

Instead, I shop from home and take advantage of all the online sales that many stores are offering this weekend and into the next few weeks. When I do shopping online I make sure to use Ebates and this time of year is the best time to use Ebates, because they have some great offers right now.

I recently posted about how much I like Ebates. But, today I thought I would do a post about ways it saved me money over the last few days.

Since I am now eating gluten free, I am cooking mainly gluten free. This has caused several in my family to really miss bread. I used to make a lot of bread, so this has been quite an adjustment for my family. We are working on how to best work my gluten free diet with the rest of my family’s diet. One thing we decided to do was buy a bread machine. I am going to do a post about why I bought one and how I like it in the next few weeks, but today I want to tell you about buying it and the good deal I got.

bread machine

I have been watching online for awhile deciding what bread machine I wanted. I knew basically what I wanted, but I was looking for a good deal. I had been watching Amazon for them, but I really wanted to try to buy one from a place that I could easily take it back if I had problems with it. Last week I was able to find the machine I wanted at Macy’s online for a really good deal. I had a $20 off coupon, plus I shopped through Ebates, so I got 5% back. If  I would have had waited until today to buy it, I could have 7% back because that is was Ebates is offering now.

I have also been wanting to get my girls some clothes for Christmas, after all they are girls and they love clothes. Yesterday, I realized Old Navy was having a really good sale. I knew I was not going to be out shopping today for the sale, so I went to their website. I found some really good deals, but I wanted to see what Ebates was offering for % back and coupons.

I went through the Ebates site and I was so glad I did. They are currently offering 10% back. Not only that they had a coupon code for $10 off. On top of that Old Navy had free shipping for orders over $50. I ended up with some great deals on clothes for my kids. I was even able to get myself a couple of tall size sweaters that were on sale for $15. After the % back and the $10 off the whole order, they were a really good deal for tall clothes.

So, that is how I save money buy shopping online. I watch for sales and use Ebates and the codes that I get through Ebates. If you have not used Ebates before now really is a great time to try it. It is free and easy to sign up and they have some great offers right now. Kohls is 6% cash back, HSN is 9%, Old Navy is 10%, and there are many more stores that have a higher than usual % back for the holidays.

What good deals did you get today?

  1. I have that Cuisanart bread machine, and I love it! It makes a really good wheat pizza crust… I don’t think it’s gluten-free, though.

  2. That’s the same bread machine I have!

  3. Is this the Cuisinart CBK-200 @ lb. Convection Automatic Or Cuisinart CBK-100 Programmable?
Both seem to have GF cycle.
