A great set of knives changes the way you look at cooking from a chore to a culinary delight!! When I first got my Henkels knives, I felt like I was cooking for Food Network! LOL

I have two Henckels Signature knives that I got in the last two years after having a cheapo Target set. It does make an amazing difference. I rarely use any other knife! Someday maybe I’ll be able to complete my set, but for now the Chef’s knife and one smaller knife does the trick most of the time!

I also resisted spending money on a good knife set. Then a few years ago hubby got me a nice set. I loved them so much that I saved up money and every few months bought the remaining knives to finish out my set. I love them and don’t know why I ever waited so long to get them.

I can’t wait until I can invest in a knife or two! My husband and I have been talking about it for awhile, but there just isn’t money right now. I’m still using the awful set I got for a wedding gift in ’96! They were cheap then and they are horrible now! I can’t wait!

Couldn’t agree more! My husband and I got fed up with our reasonale, but not best quality knives last Christmas and chose to spend a chunk of his annual bonus on good knives and we haven’t regretted it for a moment. We got 3 Wusterhoff knives from the classic range and they have been amazing. What’s really funny is when you get used to having them and you help out in someone else’s kitchen and use crummy knives again and you pretty much want to go home and kiss your good knives.

Oh yeah, i love those knives!! New knives were my christmas gift a few years ago and they are so wonderful. Not cheap but certainly a long term investment.

I only have a mismatched yard sale set that was probably 20 years old when I got them, and I’ve had them for almost 10 years. I’m not a fan of them at all, but I keep telling myself that they work–while DH begs me to go out and buy new ones.

My MIL got a really nice, new set, and I must admit, I’m in total knife envy!

OMG, yes, good knives make such a huge difference! I got a Wusthof santuko chef’s knife last year, and I don’t know how I cooked without it. I used to hate dicing veggies, but it’s not much of a chore now. I really think this is one of the most important upgrades you can make when you start cooking regularly.
