What is Hiding in My Refrigerator

by Lynn

Yesterday I cleaned some things out of my refrigerator. Hiding in the back of my refrigerator I found this.

Read it carefully, what is wrong with this whipping cream?

Does it have something to do with the fact that yesterday was January 4, 2010?

Yes, I will admit, that on January 4, 2010, I found this dairy product, that expired on September 19, 2009, in the back of my fridge.

Yes, this is an unopened whipping cream that is 3 1/2 months past the expiration date!

I do not know how I missed this. I really have cleaned out my fridge since September.

Please tell me I am not the only one that finds strange things hidden in the back of the refrigerator. Please, tell me this happens to some of you.

Lynn

Oh yes the other day I found some old opened sour cream that was frozen, inside my fridge?? It was so weird!

Oh honey, you wouldn’t believe some of the things we found at my Dad’s when we cleaned it out. I found canned milk (evaporated & sweetened condensed) more than 10 years past expiration! Ugh. Yeah that went in the trash. Fortunately at my own house I usually only find things >1 year past expir. I just lose track of how long I’ve had them. Very frustrating.

I try hard not to do that, but it does happen occassionally. Sour Cream is my worst enemy.

I do it too! Whipping cream in particular, is one of those things that I find late as well.

When we moved, I found a tiny carton of 2 year old yogurt. I have no idea how it got there because we had bought a new refrigerator *after* it expired!

That’s nothing compared to some leftovers I found in my fridge yesterday! Definite science experiment. ;/
BTW – I now have a MAJOR craving for a Braum’s milkshake…unfortunately they haven’t crossed the Mississippi River to Tennessee.

Wow! You are not alone! My refrigerator is so full right now, I’m sure I have some sort of science project “growing” in there right now! Ha!

Thanks for linking up to Friday Fails!

Yup, that is a familiar sight. Last week I ate a bowl of yogurt that expired in October of 09. It was still good–I couldn’t believe it! I wish buttermilk would live past it’s expiration date–it’s always a battle to get all of it used up before it goes bad.

I do this quite often or go to pull some spinach out of the refrigerator and it has gone bad. Hate this but I just laugh.
