The Complete America’s Test Kitchen Cookbook

It is no secret how much I love America’s Test Kitchen and their cookbooks. I really like  how they explain the science behind food.

Their new cook book The Complete America’s Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook is fast becoming my new favorite cookbook.

I checked this cookbook out from the library a few months ago and immediately loved it. I started looking through it and within no time I had over twenty recipes that I wanted to try.

I ended up buying this book because I knew I would use it all the time and that it would be a great book to add to my collection

I love watching the America’s Test Kitchen on TV, but I do not like the fact that they do not share the recipes with you. They require you to pay to subscribe to their site if you want access to the recipes from the show. This always bothered me and I rarely watch the show because of it.

This cookbook gives me the recipes from the shows that I have always wanted to try. From their baked ziti, hungarian stew, and chicken kiev to their raspberry squares, key lime pie, and chocolate bundt cake, this book includes recipes from the last 10 years.

I have already tried and enjoyed several of the recipes in this book, including the key lime pie, which I will post soon.

Not only do they include the recipes in this book, they have a whole shopping guide section that is full of product reviews.

Now I will admit  is not a cheap cookbook. This is a bit of an investment, however this book has 646 pages. It is a large cookbook full of information and recipes.

I think The Complete America’s Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook is well worth the investment.

Has anyone else seen this cookbook? What did you think?

  1. I love their show and cookbooks.. if you order the book from PBS they throw in the DVD set for free.. I have not bought it yet.but that is what they say on the commercial.. When I have enough saved I will order mine.. Seems the hints to hubby on what to get me for my birthday have been going on deaf ears !

This cookbook is awesome! I recently started watching the show on PBS, and my sister told me about this book. Every recipe that I have tried is now a family favorite! I look forward to winter when I can cook a lot more without heating up the house. Also, on the website, you can look at the current season’s stuff without having to pay for it. This includes watching full episodes online!

  3. I really like America’s Test Kitchen as well, the show and the cookbooks. I don’t own any, but I’ve checked them out from the library many times. I’m going to see if my library has this newest cookbook!

Hi just wanted to let you know I have been subscribing to your blog for a while now and love it.

I am giving you a gift to say thank you for all your work on your blog. So come by my blog to read about your award the One Lovely Blog and pick up your award to post it on your blog!

  5. Earlier this year and at least last summer & fall, you could access all of their seasons on their website. Last July was the first time I went on there to try. They just changed it to their current season in the last month or so.

I don’t have this one but I think I’d love it. We’re big ATK/CI fans.

The maple-glazed pork tenderloin from this season is DIVINE. It is so, so good. And the bacon black-pepper drop biscuits from last season (I think) are excellent, too. I make a triple-batch at a time and freeze.

  6. To add to everyone else’s comments – you can sign up to receive weekly emails about the week’s upcoming show. Of course, they also send you the emails about specials for buying their products (like the DVD with the purchase of the cookbook).
Many of the recipes are available, but as everyone else has said, the ones that sound the most intriguing require a membership. The cook books look really interesting and I’ll take your suggestion and check to see if the library has them.
Perhaps you could find them at for a little less?
