Fingerling Potatoes and Keeping Food Interesting

One of the easiest ways to keep food interesting and fun is to change it up every once in a while.

Most families eat a lot of potatoes, but instead of buying the exact same potatoes every time, buy something a little different once in a while.

I love potatoes, but I get tired of the same variety all the time. I like to occasionally buy something a little different than I normally do.

Last week when I saw fingerling potatoes at Sam’s Club, I knew it would be a great way to add a little variety to our menu plan.

We have been eating a lot of potatoes and I thought my family was getting a little tired of them. I knew fingerling potatoes would be a good way to add some variety to our meals.

Yes, they are still potatoes, but they have a different flavor than a basic potato and my kids think they are fun to eat.

So, if you are bored with your menu plan, or need some new inspiration in the kitchen, try something a little different. It does not have to be a strange or exotic type food, often all it takes is buying a different variety of something you eat all the time.

  1. Lynn, how did you fix the potatoes?

  2. I picked those up at Aldis a few times. Our family really likes them tossed in olive oil with a little rosemary, garlic and salt and roasted in the oven till tender. If you cut the bigger ones into chunks the cut surface gets crispy while the smaller ones that you leave whole taste like wonderful little mini baked potatoes. Really good!

  3. These are great roasted as Kate mentions — keep the oven high (about 415 degrees), stir a couple of times, and use kosher salt if you have it. They are also great tossed in with a roast (bird or pork or beef) and lots of garlic cloves for the last 45 minutes of cooking.
