Homemade Frappuccino Anyone?

I know I have mentioned before that I am a bit strange when it comes to coffee. In other words I am in the small minority that actually dislikes coffee. I do not like the smell or the taste. I do not like it black, full of sugar and cream, or from Starbucks.

However, I know the vast majority of people disagree with me on this. Most of you all love and need your daily coffee fix and I understand that. In fact, I am more than happy to help you get your coffee fix.

Last year I even shared my homemade frappucino recipe. And by my recipe, I mean I tried it, tweaked it, and let everyone else tell me how to adjust it. What I came up with is a favorite among our family and friends and I hope it becomes a favorite of yours.

Have you tried it yet?

  1. LOL! I like coffee, but it has to have a lot of sugar in it for me to enjoy it. I found a favorite flavor (actually two now) at this Muffin place that is 20 minutes away from me. Since it’s 20 min’s away, I always liked to call and check to see what they had before driving over there. After 2 (count them TWO) rude phone calls I had from them when I wanted to call and check – I had to give up my 1 a week (or more, depending on the day and life!) splurge on my coffee. I did discover Starbucks Carmel Machiato’s came close to the Carmel Flavor I got from my favorite (ex-favorite) place – so I could make do with that. The funny thing, I’m not an avid daily coffee drinker. If I feel the urge for a coffee – I go and get one. If I had a rough night of sleep and need the extra energy – I’ll have some. It has never taken over my mornings though to where I have NEEDED that coffee. A recent medical issue with reflux/possible ulcer – has squelched any cravings I’ve had for grabbing one (caffeine is a no-no).

So, I feel like I’m in the miniority too – of those who are not gulping down coffee every single morning before starting my day. Wonder why that is? Oh, and I hate iced coffee so Frapucino’s are out for me anyway!

  2. I make something similar and love it. Thank you for supporting the rest of us in our coffee addiction. :)

  3. Your timing is perfect for us! I went to Costco yesterday to pick up our bottles of Kirkland brand frappacino coffee bottles and they have discontinued them!! I was crushed. It’s the only coffee that my husband and I will drink. The Starbucks brand has rBst milk in them, so that kind is not an option. Thanks for the recipe, I will try it soon.

You are not alone. I completely dislike coffee. However I do like the smell of it.

    S!

  5. Perhaps we should form a support group? My husband and I both greatly dislike coffee, and I also dislike the smell of it! Thanks for letting me know we are not the only adults in America who don’t drink it! :)

  6. You’re not alone. I’ve never been able to stand coffee. Kudos to you for making a recipe for others though; I would have never attempted it.

Thanks for teaching about making the hamburger dents, too. Next time I cook some I’ll try it.

I love coffee but can’t afford the fancy types at places like Starbucks so I have tried several recipes for making them myself. Some turned out ok but I love your version! Try adding about 1/3 cup, or to taste, caramel to it for a different taste. I also make it with soy chocolate milk and it turned out just as good as it would be with regular milk.
