I Hope You Have A Very Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks. It is about being thankful for what we have. For our friends, our family, and the many blessings that we enjoy every day.

It is far to easy to get wrapped up in making the holidays perfect. We want perfect meals, a perfectly set table, and perfect memories. We often want our house and meals to look like those we see in magazines and on tv shows, but the fact is nothing works perfectly.

So, I encourage you to step back, relax, and enjoy your time with family and friends. Forget perfect and enjoy your day. Create memories and have fun!

And it would not be Thanksgiving if I did not give thanks for you all. You help make this site what it is. Thank you for coming back each and every day. Thank you for joining me on my kitchen adventures!

  1. I think you are right – time to enjoy the family and not get too swept up in the preparations! I made a hard decision that goes against my grain…I bought a store-made pecan pie instead of making one. Sounds like a simple enough, no biggie decision, but when I think of holidays, I think of homemade. But I decided that I was putting too much pressure on myself, so I looked for ways to make an easier-on-me menu. I feel excited to see how it improves the day tomorrow! Hope your day is wonderful! Thanks for all you do – we enjoy your blog!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours also! I have found many wonderful recipes and ideas on your blog. I tried brining a pork roast the other day, and it turned out so moist and tender! My husband loved it-and the next day’s leftovers were turned into a pork and dumplings sort of dish and that was great too. Thank you for all your ideas and posts. Have a happy one!

  3. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I agree about relaxing and realizing things won’t go perfect. I made a no-bake cheesecake (the one I’ve made for years) and for the first time it didn’t set up. Definitely not perfect :) But we still had a nice dinner with family and that is what is important.

  4. Thank you and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you also. And where making some of your recipes ..
