National Cheesecake Day

I am taking a break today from my Cooking Through My Collection Series to celebrate National Cheesecake Day.

Did you know that today, July 30, is National Cheesecake Day?

I could not let a day like National Cheesecake Day go to waste. After all we do love cheesecake in our house and I have quite a few cheesecake recipes that I love. So in honor of National Cheesecake Day I am sharing a post from the archives today that I shared last year for National Cheesecake Day.

If you are gluten free be sure to check out the cheesecake pie I am sharing over in my allergy section today. It is the cheesecake pictured above. And if you are not gluten free be sure to check out the recipe I shared in my allergy section today. It is a dessert anyone will love.

A favorite in our house is this White Chocolate Cheesecake. I make it crustless, but you could easily add a crust to this one.

Last year I also shared a few of my favorite tips for making cheesecake. and they work perfectly for this Chocolate Cheesecake.

I also make this cheesecake crustless, but again you could easily add a crust to this. I think an oreo cookie crust would be really good.

We also love my mom’s easy cheesecake. This is a favorite in our house and is a cheesecake my mom has been making for years.

This chocolate cheesecake pie is not a traditional cheesecake, but it is very good.

Now, I am off to make a cheesecake. What are you making for National Cheesecake Day?

  2. oh man… this made me hungry! I LOVE cheesecake!! :)

  3. I had no idea it was national cheesecake day or there even was one for that matter. How cool! Those cheesecakes look scrumptious and sound delish!!

  4. Ironic. I just made my very first ever cheesecake on Tuesday. I had some lemons and blueberries that needed used up, and I hadn’t had a chance to use my springform pan I got for my wedding back in May. So cheesecake was a perfect solution.
The recipe I found included the water bath while baking, and it was the most beautiful cheesecake! So smooth on top with no cracks! I’d heard how hard cheesecake is to bake, so I was expecting disaster!!

  5. My husband throws chocolate chips in the bottom of the pan before he pours his chocolate cheesecake into it. The chips melt while cooking and cool into a nice layer of chocolate. It pairs well with the smoothness of the cheesecake.

  6. Julie @ Essential Simplicity says:

I made a sopapilla cheesecake this evening. It WAS gonna be for us to eat tonight while my SIL and her kids were visiting…but then my husband reminded me that we needed a dessert for a potluck tomorrow. So we’ll have ice cream tonight and eat cheesecake a day late tomorrow!!

  7. Lynne, I went back and read your tips on cheesecakes. We are making one this weekend that we’ve made before, it’s cookies and cream, but you make it in a 9×13. I usually use my pyrex 9×13. Do you think it would still work to put that pyrex in a water bath for baking? Ever tried that??
