So, let’s just get to this recipe for Skillet Tamale Pie.

This is quick, easy, and delicious. And it won’t break the budget to make. Serve it with a salad on the side and you have an easy and delicious meal that your whole family will love.

  1. Yum! Sounds delicious! I know what we’re having for dinner Saturday night! :-)

(you might want to switch steps 4 and 5)

  2. Is this gluten free? I’m collecting recipes for my daughter and bought your ebook to make things for her. You didn’t tag it as gf and I’m curious. Thanks.

  3. Yum! We love Mexican food too! Can’t wait to try this!

  4. This looks yummy. I hope to make it tonight! By cornmeal do you mean the cornbread mixes or do you mean ground corn? I know that sounds crazy but so many people actually mean the mixes and I don’t use those. :-)

    • I mean cornmeal, like you would use in homemade cornbread. I am with you, I don’t use cornbread mix. Most recipes I saw like this called for a mix, so I came up with one that was made with a homemade cornbread batter. If you have a favorite cornbread you could also just use that batter. I hope you enjoy it.

This was a fabulous meal! A definite keeper–thanks for sharing!

  6. When I make Skillet Tamale Pie I add one can of corn, with liquid, and some black olives. I also stir the cornmeal into the filling, with some shredded cheese, and top with more shredded cheese. Yum!!!!!
