Turkey, bacon, cheese, honey, and mustard all in one sandwich. Delicious!
Many of you know that several in my family eat gluten free and deal with food allergies. The non gluten free, non food allergy people in my family have a great attitude about all the changes in our diet over the last few years.
Overall as a family we eat gluten free. It just makes life and meals easier. However, I love to keep treats and regular bread on hand for the regular eaters in my family. We keep a cupboard in our kitchen just for those items. They are so good about all the special food we have to eat, that I love keeping things on hand just for them.
So, when I was recently contacted about coming up with a recipe using King’s Hawaiian Rolls® for their recipe contest, I knew I would say yes. My husband and son loves King’s Hawaiian® products.
Before going gluten free I made homemade bread and rolls all the time. Since going gluten free, I don’t bake like I used to. King’s Hawaiian though gives them that homemade feeling, without having to make it at home.
I also love the fact that their rolls and buns are sesame free. This is actually hard to find in a store bought bread product, so it makes me love them even more.
With the holiday coming up I knew that I wanted a recipe that worked for the holidays, but I decided to think a little different and make a recipe using holiday leftovers.
We often have leftover turkey and rolls from holiday dinners, so a hot sandwich using both of those seemed like a great fit.
Now, I used turkey lunch meat, because I don’t have regular turkey right now, but after Thanksgiving you can be sure I will be using Thanksgiving leftovers. And I think this would be just as delicious with leftover ham as well.
This would be an easy and delicious lunch or dinner to make the day after Thanksgiving when you still have a house full of company. Make a large pan of these up and you will have a quick and easy lunch or dinner on the table in no time.
