Super Bowl Party For Under $50

Super Bowl Party Under $50This post is sponsored by ALDI, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Today we are talking football which is a favorite subject for several reasons in my house. While some in my family love football, I love creating food to go with all the football watching.

Super Bowl 50 takes place on February 7th, so I am partnering with ALDI to help you create a fun and delicious Super Bowl party for under $50.

Superbowl Party Under $50-

Since it is Super Bowl 50 we are focusing on $50, but really what I am showing you today can be done for quite a bit under $50 depending on the meat you decide to use. And be sure to read to the end for a fun $50 ALDI giveaway! Giveaway over.

I love to entertain. Whether it is for football watching or just for having a group of friends over, my family and I enjoy opening up our home to friends and family. One of my requirements though when entertaining is to keep it simple and inexpensive.

Many people think that entertaining has to be fancy, time-consuming, and expensive. I disagree. You can have a great time, keep it simple, and not break the budget.

Today I am going to show you how.

Superbowl Party Under $50_

I love to make recipes from scratch, but when it comes to parties and entertaining I am all for keeping it simple by buying a few things pre-made.

For this party I decided to buy some of the fresh salsa at ALDI. They had several varieties. I bought the Verde Salsa and the Peach Mango. I also picked up some guacamole. I could have easily bought some avocados to make my own, but to keep it simple I bought the pre-made guacamole.  Guacamole is actually a product I buy often at ALDI. My family loves it.

Superbowl Party Under $50--

All you have to do is pick up a few packages of tortilla chips and set them out for easy chips and salsa. I decided to serve my salsa in a bowl, but you could easily just serve it straight from the container.

Superbowl Party Under $50___

Another way I keep it simple is to use my crock pots. I have a couple of them so it works great for serving a crowd. The easiest thing I have found to serve, especially during the fall and winter, is chili. Everyone loves chili and it is easy to make.

I love putting it in the crock pot because everyone can just grab a bowl when they want to and we don’t have to eat at any specific time. Chili is also pretty inexpensive to serve. It serves a lot and you can usually stretch it out even more by adding more beans and less meat if needed.

Superbowl Party Under $50 Soup-

I made a double batch of one of my favorite crock pot chili recipes and I also made the easy sausage chili recipe I share below. You could easily serve just one kind of chili, but I like to serve two kinds for a little variety.

Superbowl Party Under $50 Fruit

When I entertain I like to be sure to have something healthy as well to set out. For this party I bought some pineapple because the pineapple the day I went to ALDI looked great, but you could easily pick up fruit for a fruit salad, make a green salad, or put together a vegetable tray.

One of the other great things about this meal is that it is gluten-free. Several people in my family eat gluten-free and I love that by shopping at ALDI, I  can serve inexpensive meals that are also gluten-free. If you are gluten-free just be sure to read the labels to check that the items you choose are gluten-free.

Superbowl Party Under $50 Meat

Here is the ingredient list for everything I served. I did not buy spices, sugar, salt, or pepper, since I already had plenty of those on hand, but everything else is included below. I bought ALDI grass fed organic ground beef because I love the fact that ALDI is now offering more healthy, gluten-free, and organic options. To save money you could easily choose a less expensive ground beef.

  1. I love Aldi. I am gluten free so in addition to the many staples I buy here I also pick up some gluten free foods also. I buy their pizza crust and brownie mix along with some handy snacks for when I don’t have time to cook like cookies and bars. I will say that Aldi no longer carries their chocolate gluten free cake mix. Please bring it back. It was a good gluten free mix that non gluten free people liked as well when I made things with it.

  2. Annette clifton says:

Lots of things i love at aldi but one thing i always buy is their reduced fat shredded cheese

  5. I buy at Aldi because I grew up with this store, my Mom buying groceries at Aldi in Germany.
I love all their German groceries! Especially at Christmas time when they have stollen, gingerbread hearts and other German chocolates. I love it!
I didn’t know they had grass fed meats there too. Will definitely
Look out for them on my next shopping trip!

  6. I am a huge fan of produce at Aldi’s! Organic apples, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes. I’llnhave to try those salsas though- they look great!

  7. Kimberly in NC says:

I LOVE Aldi’s! I am from VA and had never heard of them until I met my husband and his mother talked about shopping there. Then after marrying and moving to NC, there was one in our town. I now shop there regularly and love saving money. I buy almost all of our groceries there. Milk, eggs, bacon, fruit, veggies, crackers, chips, bread, canned goods, frozen items, lunch meats, cheeses, coffee, spices, sugars, tissues, toilet paper, foil, plastic wrap, meats, etc…..And I love to Christmas/Birthday shop there for gluten free items for my father in law who has a limited diet. (My frozen pizza suggestion is the Spinach Goat Cheese Pizza that they only carry a few times a year!)

  8. Debbie the NY Baker says:

I’m a big time Aldi fan! I do tons of baking and the items available at Aldi are top notch and far less expensive than regular grocery stores. Because the ingredients cost me less, I can keep my prices down and pass along the savings to my customers. It’s all good!

  9. Melodie Mach says:

  15. That Chili sounds very yummy! My favorite items at ALDI have to be their produce and dairy! I love that I can get quality vegetables, fruit, milk, cheese, sour cream, and not pay an arm and a leg for it.

  16. I’m a huge fan of Aldi. My favorite products are the cereals (so cheap!), the almond milk, and butter.

  17. I was so excited when we finally got an Aldi in my hometown. I love the produce, it is great quality, but much cheaper than other stores. I also buy a lot of canned goods there for the same reason. They are much better quality than most other store brands.

  18. I also love Aldi’s. I buy lots of my produce, dairy and frozen things from Aldi. Thanks for all the good recipes

  19. Like you, I shop at ALDI’s because it’s easy to be GF. I love that you post many gluten free recipes on your site. People don’t realize how easy it actually is to adapt a recipe to be gluten free. Thank you for spreading the word!

  20. My grandfather introduced us to Aldi. I am always amazed at the imported goods you can find at Aldi. Cookies from Belgium, Dutch cakes, Italian pasta. You can really spruce things up for a gathering without breaking the bank. And my kids think it’s great fun to bring the groceries home in boxes!

  21. Aldi’s is a great place to shop on a budget. I find that I can pick up what I need on my lunch hour, without getting overwhelmed with huge selections and tons of isles. I particularly enjoy your website and e-mail newsletters because you provide simple, every day type recipes and this super bowl party plan is no exception.

  22. We love shopping at Aldi! We always buy their canned tomatoes and green beans, fresh produce, milk, eggs, butter, and their chocolate bars.

  23. We enjoy the produce, canned beans, organic cereals, and the cashews.

  24. How much grass fed beef do you get for $6.99. I don’t see a package size. I assume it’s 1lb. It’s at least 45 minutes to an Aldi from my home, but I love to shop there whenever I can.

  25. I like the flavor and quality of DeCecco tomato products and pastas, and they are available and reasonably priced at our local Aldi’s store.

  26. Carol Ann Blaine says:

    Hi Lynn,
I love shopping at Aldi’s for all my baking ingredients: great prices on spices, cake mix,
    condensed milk, etc.

  27. I like their chocolate!

  28. Lisa Wright says:

I love Aldi’s guacamole too. They have great produce and the canned good are so much better quality. What a great post for a superbowl party under $50.00 that’s really affordable. I enjoy your recipes and your website is great.

  29. This chili looks yummy. Thank you for posting the recipe so I can try it.

  30. Tamara daviston says:

I love their bread and vanilla bean ice cream :) They just opened one near my house and I’m over joyed!

  31. I can’t wait to try the chilli recipes. Hope to win some grocery money for vacation. Thanks!

  32. I like to shop at Aldi. Some of my favorite products are their cereal, frozen foods and gluten free selection.

  33. Aldi’s is where I get the most for my money! I purchase frozen fruit and fresh spinach for smoothies every week. I will also be making chili for the Super Bowl.

  34. Aldi’s is a great place to shop. I like their produce and dairy products. They also have a great selection of snacks.

  35. Am still looking for a real good gluten-free chili. Many years ago, I used my mothers, but between moving and other unforeseen happenings, I lost her recipe. I try to duplicate, but have yet to come close. I don’t remember all the ingredients, but I’m game to try this one. I know I won’t be able to make it exactly like hers, but who knows, maybe I’ll find one that I like much better. Also, would like to be entered for the Aldi drawing. Many thanks.

  36. My family is big Aldi fans! And, I’m always looking for ‘cheap’ products. :-)

  37. Dawn Mathews says:

Aldi is my go-to store for the pantry basics. And I love how much money I save on produce there! They are offering more and more organic items, and I often find limited-time specials to pick up. I don’t even mind bagging my own groceries:)

  38. I just started shopping at Aldi a few months ago when we moved near one. Love that their prices are so reasonable, I can get a lot more for my dollar there!

  39. Unfortunately, we do not have Aldi’s in our part of the country, and I am so jealous when I read about people shopping there. With the merger of Albertsen’s and Safeway, my grocery store choices have dwindled significantly.
Albertsen’s and Safeway promote the same items. There is one local chain, one regional chain store that is 20 miles away, Walmart (which I don’t like), Costco and Fred Meyers (also far away). The local grocery chain does sell high-quality ground pork for $1.99 a lb. and I buy some every week. I make my own sausage, either using my own spices or Penzey’s Breakfast Sausage Blend. The chili recipe sounds great so I will be picking up some ground pork to make it. I have saved the recipe in your blog’s folder on my computer. There are only two of use so I will probably halve the recipe. Have a great week.

  40. We like their dairy products and their produce.

  41. I really enjoy your blog and the down-to-earth recipes. Thank you for offering this giveaway!

  42. Brandette W. says:

We are HUGE Aldi lovers here! We never had one while living in CA, but once we moved to the Midwest I tried it. It is one of my very favorite grocery stops.

I really have way too many favorite Aldi products to list, but some of them are: snack foods, produce, canned goods, sour cream/heavy cream/cream cheese, guacamole packs, chips, baking supplies.

One of my very favorite things about Aldi is that I can seriously stock-up on items for really really low prices, and they never ever bat an eye if I am buying cases of products. I truly love how in the last few years, they have really started to expand what they offer, making it almost a 1 stop shop!

  43. I grew up with Aldi. It has changed for the better with healthier options but they still have great prices. I love their produce & my kids like their snacks. It’s a definite stop for my grocery shopping. Just remember your debit card or cash since they don’t take credit & bring your quarter for the Cart along with your reusable bags.

  44. I often swing by Aldi for sandwich bread, shredded and string cheeses, canned beans/veggies and 4oz cans of green chilies (though they don’t always have them!). Organic quinoa, which I’m trying to incorporate into more meals, is also a great price.

  45. I do most of my shopping at Aldi. Love it! My kids favorite right now is the take and bake pizza.

  46. Great post, Lynn! My son is in college in Minneapolis and he loves shopping at Aldi!! :)
    Blessings,
    Chris

  47. I love Aldi, great prices, quality foods, no frills shopping.

  48. Melissa A says:

I love shopping at Aldi. Favorite items to buy are cheese, fresh produce, gluten free items, eggs, snack foods and baking supplies. Aldi helps me to feed my family of 5 healthy food on a budget.

  49. I love shopping at Aldi. I’m very excited that they are expanding their organic fruit and vegetable line, too! One of my favorite things to buy at Aldi is avocados. They almost always have ripe, ready to use avocados available!

  50. I don’t get to Aldi very often because the closest one is 45 min away but I love it when I do! I love their produce and dairy especially. I also love that they have different things that you can’t find just anywhere.

  51. I’ve been shopping at Aldi more & more since they’ve started regularly carrying more organic and healthy items. I also love the small size of the store – so much easier to get in and out quickly.

  52. I just love how much money I save with Aldi.

  53. We recently moved to a town that has an Aldi. Shopping there is an adventure and I never know what I’ll leave with! Chocolate, crackers, meat, lots and lots of produce, organic spaghetti noodles……

  54. Michelle Morris-Gage says:

My budget Is $75 for 4 but I focus on $40. Aldi has been a great deal of how it happens. When the budget was created it was hard. I turned it into a game. Time saving, creative left-overs, freezer packets, the CROCK POT all have helped. My favorite is the fresh vegetables and fruit. But the gourmet cheeses, coffee, spices, and milk price are all positives!

  55. I love their hummus. My kids love dipping their veggies in it!

  56. Aldi always has the best avocados!

  57. I love Aldi! My favorite is their colored peppers!

  58. Would love the aldi gift card my favorite thing at aldi is the fact that I can fill my cart and not worry how much it will be no clipping coup[ons my son loves there brand of gater aid .There k cups are low price and taste great .thanks for reading shelly from ,tn

  59. Kristine DeWald says:

Go ALDI’s!! I buy almost all of my canned goods there.

  60. Love the produce! Just wish they would stock items better when they are on sale. Aldi is great.

  61. I love to shop at Aldis. I love the produce aisle. specially the fresh pears! But I pretty much buy it al!

  62. In my area, Aldi has the cheapest miil of any other store by almost $1. That alone makes them worth the trip. They have unbelievable prices on cereals and produce, and many of their every day prices are lower than the sales at other stores.

  63. This would go very far at Aldi with their awesome prices! I love shopping there for all sorts of things – their brand has always been great!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  66. I mostly get snacks, like chips at Aldi’s

  67. Laura Cross says:

We just got an Aldi so I haven’t shopped there long but I love their organic products, especially the canned beans. Great price and makes cooking soups so quick and easy. And the freeze dried strawberries my kids love.

  68. Susan Christy says:

I shopped Aldi’s yesterday because I was out of canned green beans – my favorite thing!! I also bought their fresh baked “Kitchen Sink” cookies that might become my new addiction.

  69. We love Aldi! Saves me a ton of money.

  70. Jennifer Wright says:

    Love the food ideas!
