Favorite Cookbook

I have quite a few cookbooks. I also like to check out cookbooks from our library. I enjoy just looking through them to find new techniques and new ideas. I do have a favorite, or two favorites actually. They are The Best Of Country Cooking and The Best Of Country Cooking 2nd Edition. Both of these were put out by Taste of Home magazine and Reiman Publications in the early 1990’s. They were the only cookbooks I owned when I was first married. So I guess they started my collection of cookbooks. During the first several years of our marriage these are what I cooked out of. Many of my favorite recipes still come from these two books. These books are no longer in publication. I wish they were. I gave them several times as wedding gifts. They are full of basic everyday recipes with your basic pantry ingredients. I have many sources now for recipes but these two books will always remain my favorites.

I do not think I can choose a favorite online recipe source. I really enjoy the tasteofhome.com website. It is full of recipes from past issues of all their magazines. Some of the recipes are for subscribers only but a lot of them can be accessed by anyone. I always really enjoy allrecipes.com. I like it because the recipes are rated. You can be pretty sure if 564 other people like the cookie recipe, that it will be a good one to try. I also like the fact that when you read the reviews you can see what other people have changed about the recipe. You find a lot of good tips that way. If you use allrecipes be sure to read through at least some of the reviews before trying a recipe out.

Some of my other online favorites are southernliving.com and marthastewart.com.

I think it would be fun to find out what your favorite cookbooks and recipe sources are. So please leave a comment and let me know.
