Roy Update

Sorry this post has nothing to do with food. It is for my long time readers and my family and friends. I will back to kitchen related posts tomorrow.

I recently received a comment asking how our dog Roy was doing. I decided it would be a good time for a Roy update. If you are new to my blog, Roy is our German Shepherd puppy we got last August. You can read about that here and here.

Roy has turned out to be a really good dog. He has a nice deep, loud bark, which makes for a great watch dog. He does love to chew on things, but that is normal for puppies. He does love to catch mice, yes, mice. Roy and our other two dogs have become quite good at using teamwork to catch mice. Not the best habit for our dogs, but at least we don’t need a cat.

Roy did not want to stay still for his picture to be taken, but we got a couple of okay ones.

Roy’s ears now stand up most of the time.

But sometimes they look like this

That is okay we love him anyway.

Aww Roy is a beautiful dog!! Really he catches mice, wow that hilarious. We have a do that love to catch birds, poor birdies.

  2. I have 2 german sheppherd puppies, we got them Jan 2008. Mine female is a great mice catcher. She has killed 5 since we got her. They are very trainable too, which is great. Mine are both good watchdogs as well. I live in the city and I know that my dogs have scared away at least 3 people on our porch in the middle of the night.

  3. What a great looking dog! ๐Ÿ˜€ LOL on the mice!

  4. He’s so sweet. I love the ears both ways ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Beautiful dog! We love our shepherd mix, but she is not a barker. She is finally “guarding” a little more at age 3, but her bark is just not very deep…more like a yelp. Our 12 year old lab/husky mix on the other hand…stops the solicitors about 15 feet from the front door with her bark.

Thanks for sharing the great pics!

  6. is that a tricolor border collie on the right? it looks just like my border collie. same stance and coloring!
