WonderMill Review and Giveaway

GIVEAWAY OVER

The winner is Melissa- melizajane20@

I sent you an email.

I am so excited about this review and giveaway.

Before going gluten free I loved baking and made all kinds of things. I even ground my own flour and loved the benefits of fresh ground whole wheat, but then gluten free eating entered my life. Grinding my own flour was no longer an option and my flour mill was set aside and eventually given away to a friend of mine.

Recently though I was contacted by WonderMill about reviewing their mill for grinding gluten free flours. I can not tell you how excited I was for a chance to grind my own gluten free flours.

I started with grinding my own rice flours and tried them in three gluten free recipes that I have made many times. I made my chocolate chip cookies, my pizza crust, and in our new favorite pancake and the rice flours I ground myself worked perfectly. I could not tell a difference at all.

You can read my full review of the WonderMill and gluten free flours in my allergy section. And whether or not you are gluten free I really encourage you to read my review. I am impressed with the WonderMill and how it works.

The WonderMill is great for grinding all kinds of things not just gluten free flours. You can use this for wheat, corn, and various other things. This mill would be great for anyone wanting to give grinding their own flours a try.

And the good news is that the great people at WonderMill not only sent me a mill to try, they are giving away a mill to one of my readers!

Yes, one of you will win a WonderMill!

This grinder has been on my wish list. Our budget doesn’t allow for the purchase of one right now. Maybe in the future. I can only hope!

  2. I like to grind my own whole grain flours so they are fresh and I know that they have not been processed or have any additives. This is a great giveaway!!

  3. i would love to be able to grind my own wheat flour!!

  4. I would love to win this. I love baking and i would like to grind wheat and other grains for baking, and grind some for cereals for my kiddos.

  5. It is definitely hard to go Gluten Free. I used to be a bread baker, now I never eat any. I would love to be able to grind my own flour and make a loaf of bread again. Sounds heavenly!

  6. Angeline Roberts says:

I would love to take my baking to another level, and I think grinding my own flour would be just the ticket. Secretly, I am hoping this would be a great way to ‘trick’ my hubby into eating more foods made with whole flour 🙂

  7. How exciting, Lynn! We have recently gone gluten-free and it’s still a challenge to figure out what to serve… I’d love to try grinding my own flour! Thank you!

  8. I would like to be able to grind my own flours in order to use the freshest possible in recipes.

  9. Am just learning about cooking from scratch and think this would be a great opportunity!

  10. Terri Horne says:

I’m trying my own sprouted grain breads and would love to try them with the dried grains and grinding them! How cool to be able to experiment with unsprouted and sprouted grains of all kinds.

  11. Besides wanting to use freshly ground flour in my own cooking, I have a lot of friends who can’t eat gluten, and it would be so nice to be able to bake something for them, especially without having to buy a whole bag of rice or almond flour. Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. Sandy Munn says:

We live 70 miles from the nearest store that sells gluten free flours so if I don’t have a trip there, then I have to order my flours which can take several days to get! If I could grind my own flours, then I wouldn’t have to keep so much extra ground flour in my freezer.

  13. I would love to be able to grind my own flours. Sometimes it is difficult to find the flour I am looking for such as brown rice flour and having the ability to grind it myself would be so much easier than trying to find it at the store.

  14. This would be a great asset to my kitchen. I have ground flour in the past, but we are now looking at a gluten-free diet – I will need to change the way we eat quite drastically. It’s good to hear that I could go back to making my own flours with a new mill!!

  15. I would love to win!!!!

  16. For the past year, I have been working on slowly incorporate healthier foods into my family’s meals. This includes using whole wheat flour in my baked goods (bread, cookies, muffins). I would enjoy grinding my own wheat for nutrition and also the overall savings. Thanks for the opportunity.

  17. Hello. I have ground flour on a rock. That is too primative for me. I don’t have the time or the love of sand in my teeth. An electric mill would be so fantastic. We would have fresh baked bread. Thank you.

  18. I would love to win a mill! What would be most awesome though, would be to win a Wonder Junior Deluxe. I’m currently on the GAPS diet and need to find a way to grind my own nut flours! 🙂

  19. misty parenzan says:

I would love to be able to grind my own flour for health benefits 🙂

  21. My daughter and I have many allergies and we are trying to eliminate everything processed and altered from our diets. Grinding my own flour would be a huge step!

  22. Therese Bradley says:

I would love to be able to grind my own gluten free flours. Never even thought of this. The money I would save! Plus the freshness!

  23. AllieZirkle says:

I would love to win this!! I purchase specialty flours as I bake for my feeds with special dietary needs. This would be amazing to win!

  24. I’d love to give it a go. Trying all kinds of new things since I stopped eating wheat

  25. I would really love to win the WonderMill grinder, so I can give it to my daughter who has Celiac and needs to be gluten free. I have seen first hand how expensive it can be by buying some of the flour she uses to remake her recipes. I also know that the food processor or blender do not work. She would really like to grind her own flour, but does not have a grinder. I read your postings every day (both of them). So, this is why I would like to win the WonderMill.

  26. My son is allergic to gluten and I would love to grind my own gluten free flour. All gluten-free flour or ready made bread is so expensive that I am actually saving any residue from my grocery budget to buy a grain mill.

  27. I would love to grind my own as I bet it tastes a bit fresher and it would be more nutritious!

  28. I would love to be able to grind my own flour. I make homemade bread every couple of days.

  29. I would love to grind gluten-free flours as well! 🙂 My brother has Celiac Sprue disease (gluten intolerant) and I suspect that I am too, but I have been getting resistance from doctors to getting tested. A lot of doctors I have come across are very ignorant about Celiac Disease and had never even heard of it (I had to educate them and had to spell it for them)! :O [VERY discouraging journey….]

  30. I’ve wanted one of these! I saw a demo once where they used bean flour in cookies. I’d like to try that!

  31. I love cooking from scratch so this would be awesome to have!

  32. Would love to grind my own flour! Had no idea it would be this easy.

  39. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. We have been trying to make everything we can from scratch and not use processed foods. I haven’t been able to afford a mill to grind my own grains but would love to win this one and be able to do that!

  40. Christy B. says:

I’d love to start grinding my own wheat flour because I have so much wheat in my food storage! It would be nice to have the family get used to eating it, too.

  41. I have been looking at these type of mills for about a year now and if has been added to the wish list. We are going through the process now of finding out what is going on with mom and if it turns out to be some type of autoimmune problem i have read that a new approach to foods could possibly reduce symptoms and flares greatly, a new way of eating. So yes this would make a nice addition to anyone’s kitchen for a number of reasons. I think This would be exciting because honestly I am a geek.

  42. I have been wanting one of these for a while. I make batters in my blender which grinds oats and rice “fresh” but we’ve really outgrown it, and I’d love to make bean flours!

  43. I would love to win so I can help my family eat a little healthier. Thanks for a great giveaway.

  44. I grind my own wheat using my VitaMix, but I’ve always wondered what difference a “real” grain mill would make. I love the fresh taste and never thought of trying my own gluten-free flour!

  45. I too use my VitaMix to grind my own GF flours but a mill would be nice for making bigger batches at a time. With the VitaMix, you can only make 2 cups at a time and then you have to let the motor cool off or you could damage a very expensive machine.

  46. I would love to win a WonderMill. My family has been trying to eat healthier. I have been thinking about getting a Mill, but I was nervous about putting that much money into one.

  47. Would love to win the wondermill! Thanks!

  54. This is the exact grinder I have been saving up for. Very generous give-away! (fingers crossed!)

  55. I bartered our grain mill I had for goat milk when we had to go wheat-free and dairy-free. I have just begun to regret that!! We did some extreme diet things and naturopath things and all of us can eat wheat again and now I have no grinder =( This would be great to win!!

  56. I would love to grind my own flour, but right now our budget does not have room for a grain mill.

  57. Crystal Hankey says:

Oh my gosh, I eat gluten free and this would be so awesome to grind my own flours. Just think of all the goodies I could make with fresh ground flour!

  58. I would love to win this for my sister. We grew up grinding our own grains, and I have a Nutrimill, but not all of my sisters have their own mills yet.

  59. Vanessa Jones says:

I would love to grind grains again! Growing up we ground all our wheat fresh but I have not been able to get one for my own kitchen yet.

  60. I would LOVE to win this. I had JUST managed to save up enough for a grain mill and was having a blast grinding my own wheat and then WHAM my son ends up on a gluten, corn and dairy free diet. So, now my wheat grinder is totally worthless to me :(. I can’t see how you could ever get it decontaminated of gluten, so I’m going to have to start saving up again for yet another grinder. Totally and completely depressing to say the least!

  61. I’ve been wanting to try a grain grinder, as I want to try to use healthier flour in things I bake. Would love to win one !!!!!!!

It is really cool that you got to review one.
My son would like to go gluten free. I have introduced him
    to your recipies.

  63. I would love to try and grind my own flours. There are so many flour blends I’ve wanted to try but I hate to spend so much money on speciality flours only to find that I hate them. This would be a great way to try small amounts of different flours instead of buying a whole bag. And the flours would be fresher too!

  64. Natalie Q. says:

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to stop buying bread products from the store and make all my own. I am happy to say that we are 9 months into the year and I have only bought bread once – and that was only because we were camping! I now make homemade bread, English muffins, rolls, buns, tortillas, pitas, and pizza crust. Since I’ve been so successful with making breads, I’ve been toying with the idea of grinding my own grains. This would be a great opportunity to start!

  65. I have been wanting a WonderMill for a while. I have started to try and make all of our things from scratch. The mill would help this become a reality for grinding our own flour too. By the way, LOVE your website.

  66. I have heard that it is so much healthier & tasty to grind your own flour. By the time we buy the store brought stuff there is little nutrients left. I want my family to be as healthy as we can. That is why I want to win this mill! Thanks for your site. It is a treasure trove of great recipes!

  72. We eat out entirely too much! I’ve made the decision, and I’m going to try to stick to it, that I need to start cooking. Not only for financial reasons, but for our health! I think the way to get myself to do this is to make it fun and I love the idea of making things from scratch, it always tastes better, and you just don’t get more scratch than making your own flour. I would LOVE to try it out!

  73. I’ve always wanted to grind my own – my gramma had a mill (non-electric of course) and I have fond memories of her teaching me to bake and me being in charge of grinding the flour 🙂
