What Is It Wednesday {33}

Today’s What Is It Wednesday is courtesy of my daughter. She brought this in to me last week and we thought it was perfect for What Is It Wednesday.

My daughter loves eating these. She will just bite a piece off or she will chop it up and put it on salad or on her dinner.

This one will be interesting to see how many of you know what it is. I am guessing that some of my older readers or readers who grew up in the country will know exactly what it is.

Do you know what it is?

Lynn's Kitchen Adventures

  1. It looks a little like the tops of wild onion or wild garlic before the flower blooms.

  2. Garlic Scapes! Can’t wait for them to come to the farmers’ market in NS.

  3. Garlic Scapes! I did not know what they were until we got them a couple of years ago in our CSA box. Love them!

  4. It looks like onion to me, similar to a scallion onion. We used to grow them in our garden. Very mild in taste.

  5. DonnaGriffin says:

My chives look like this right now.

  6. Twyla St Louis says:

    I’m guessing garlic chives

  7. Angeline says:

I think they are Garlic Shoots…

  8. Garlic Scapes. YUM!

  9. Ramps!

  10. Alliums? That’s what mine look like, but we’ve never eaten them.

  11. They are garlic scapes ! Very tasty.

  12. Marsha A. says:

They look like ramps (or sometimes called garlic ramps).

  13. They are chive flowers.

  14. We always just called these wild onions. Curious to know what they ‘really’ are! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. I have had chives like that look similar and they are wonderful.
