Creamy Fruit Salad

by Lynn

Last week I really wanted to make a fruit salad. It just sounded good. But I did not want to make my yogurt fruit salad. I wanted something different. I have made many fruit salads over the years, but most of them contained jello or pudding mixes. I am trying not to use mixes, so I needed to find a new fruit salad to try. We really like a fruit salad I used to make that contained vanilla pudding. I decided to search the internet to see if I could find something like it without the mix.

I finally found a recipe on Recipezaar that I thought would give me similar results because you were basically making a pudding sauce of your own. I tweaked the recipe a little to adjust it to our tastes and it turned out really well. We all thought this was better than the fruit salad made with a pudding mix. Plus, it was healthier.

You can really very this using different fruit. I think the pineapple juice is the key to making the sauce good though. We really liked the taste it gave it. But another fruit juice might work also.

That looks really good! I love fruit salad.

I too was looking for a different way to make my fruit salad and then found a recipe that incorporated peach pie filling to make the juice thick. It was a delicious addition to my fruit salad!
