Easy Cheesey Bread

I recently wanted/needed a bread that was quick to make to go along with our dinner. I was going to make my 40 minute rolls, but I wanted something different because I had made those a lot recently. I decided to try to make a cheesy bread for dinner using my 40 minute roll recipe. It worked great.

Here is what I did.

I took my 40 minute roll recipe and pressed it out on my pizza stone. You could use a cookie sheet also for this. I pressed it out to about 1 inch. I let it rise for about 20 minutes. I melted about 2 tablespoons of butter. I added about 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon parsley into the butter. You could also use Italian seasoning or add some basil. I carefully brushed this onto the dough. I then sprinkled it with about 1/2 cup of cheese. I had some Italian blend cheese, but you could use a mix of Parmesan and mozzarella. I baked this at 425 for 14 minutes. This is how long it took in my oven, but you may want to check it at about 12. I think it will take 12-16 minutes. Cut into strips and serve.

Here’s another one I’ll have to try, Lynn. Sounds wonderful. We love hot bread and then add cheese!!! That has to be a winner.
