Sausage and Peppers Sheet Pan Sandwiches

A few weeks ago I shared eight simple sheet pan dinners. One of the recipes I linked to was for a simple sheet pan sausage and pepper sandwich.

It looked so good that I knew I needed to try it. So today I am sharing my version of that same basic recipe. I changed it up slightly, but not much. I basically made mine with more meat. In fact, I doubled the meat. But you don’t have to do that.

This recipe is just a basic idea. You can easily add more or less meat or onions and peppers to this and it will still be delicious.

Sausage and Peppers Sheet Pan Sandwiches is an easy and delicious dinner.

Course: Main Course
Servings: 6
Author: Lynn's Kitchen Adventures
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds uncooked Italian sausage, I like to cut it up into pieces I like to use turkey sausage
  • 4 peppers, yellow, orange, red, or green sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 hot dog or hamburger buns
  • 6 slices provolone, mozzarella, or other cheese of choice
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Place sausages, peppers, and onions on sheet pan.

  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes, stirring part way through cooking time. Cook until meat is done and onions and peppers are tender.

  4. Serve on buns with cheese. (If desired you can place cheese on buns and toast in oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese and toast the bread.)

Recipe Notes

For a gluten free version I serve on gluten free buns or eat without buns.
