If you miss the thick slices of Texas toast, you need to give Rudi’s Gluten Free Texas Toast a try.
I did not have time last month to make gluten-free bread for Father’s Day, so when I was at Whole Foods getting a few things, I decided to pick up some gluten-free bread.
I saw Rudi’s Gluten Free Sourdough Texas Toast in the freezer section and decided to give it a try.
I was never a huge Texas toast fan, but for some reason, when I saw this, I wanted to try it. I thought it would be fun to share our review of it here.
It comes frozen, but it’s super easy to make.
You just place it on a baking sheet and bake it.
When it was done, it looked pretty close to real Texas toast with garlic butter.
It went perfectly with our steak dinner. Even my husband, who doesn’t have to eat gluten-free, enjoyed the gluten-free Texas toast.
I will say that it wasn’t cheap. I think it was $7 for a box of four slices. That is pretty expensive per slice. However, it did make for a delicious treat.
Would I buy this often? Probably not. Primarily due to the cost. Is it a fun treat for a special dinner? Yes, it is.
Whole Foods is also not the cheapest place to buy gluten-free products, so I am going to see if I can find it at another store that might be cheaper.
Have you tried gluten free Texas toast?
