I love Emeril’s seasoning. I have bought it many times and used it for a lot of different things. It works great as an all purpose seasoning. I use it for hamburgers, steak, chicken, and even fish. I have also used it on vegetables.
A few years ago my sister gave my kids two of Emeril’s kids cookbooks. Included in one of the books was a recipe for Baby Bam Seasoning. I was a little skeptical about this seasoning recipe. I was not sure it would really be like the real thing, but I knew that making the seasoning at home would be much cheaper than buying it, so I decided to give it a try.
It turns out this seasoning really does taste a lot like the real thing. The main difference is it is not as spicy, but for many things that actually works better. I think it makes it more of an all purpose seasoning because I do not always want food spicy. If I want it more spicy for a particular dish, I just add a little chili powder to it before using it in that dish.
This seasoning really is a great seasoning to keep on hand in your kitchen, and if you like the regular store version of Emeril’s Seasoning, you should give this a try.
Now, you are probably wondering exactly how I use this seasoning. Well, I have several recipes coming in the next few weeks explaining my favorite ways to use this.
Emeril’s Baby Bam Seasoning
- 3 tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
Mix all ingredients together and store in an air tight container.

I love to cook and bake, and it is a good thing, because my family loves to eat. I live with my husband and three kids on 43 acres in Northeastern Oklahoma. Between homeschooling, helping in my husband’s dental office, working on our property, taking care of three dogs, and raising hogs as a side job/hobby, I am constantly on the go like most of you.
What a great seasoning mix to have on hand! I’ll look forward to your recipes that go with it, Lynn.
Thanks!
Shirley
