What Is It Wednesday {Twenty- Eight}

I will admit that this is not a new food for my family, but I think it will be new to many of you.

This is also one of those items that will show where you live or where you grew up. This is definitely more of a regional type food.

Do you know what it is?

    Looks like hominy to me. I’ve also seen it called hominy grits (not the same as just plain “grits”). I haven’t eaten any in a long time, but it is a southern US thing

    Hominy. We ate yellow hominy when I was growing up. I like it, but since the hubby doesn’t I don’t fix it much.

    It’s hominy! I grew up in Wisconsin though. 😉 It’s popular in a lot of Mexican dishes my mom made for us growing up.
