    Wow! I’m from Oregon, never even thought of eating grits. If you put up some of your favorite recipes, I’ll give it a go!

      @Eva, I know. I great up in NW Oregon and grits were seemed like a pretty foreign food. My husband though grew up eating them, so I had to learn to cook them and eventually learned to enjoy them. 🙂

    I grew up in PA…and I love grits with cheese, butter…and scrabled eggs..all mixed together…so yummy!!

    As a GRITS myself, Girl Raised In The South, I love grits anyway you fix them, no favorite way, but I sure love shrimp and grits anytime of the day. At one point in my life I lived in Edmonton, Alberta and had no grits supply locally, so on a trip home I stocked up. Had a heck of a time trying to explain 15 pounds of grits to Canada customs. They just didn’t see the attraction. Thankfully, I did come back home and haven’t had a problem obtaining grits since. One tip, instant grits taste like fake grits, quick grits are good but increase cooking time to about 20 or 30 minutes, stone ground are the best but I don’t usually have and hour to cook them. Stone ground grits keep real well in the freezer so I do keep them on hand for when I do have time.
