Ask The Readers- Memorial Day Weekend Edition

It is Memorial Day weekend and many of you will be enjoying a three or four day weekend.

My husband had Friday off and also Monday and we are enjoying a long weekend together as a family.

Today we went to the farmer’s market, Lowes, and an estate sale and besides that we are catching up on projects around the house. Nothing too exciting, but it is nice to have a long weekend at home to catch up on all the little things that need done.

What are your plans for this holiday weekend? Are you traveling or staying at home? Are you spending it with friends or do you have to work? I would love to hear how you are spending your holiday.

My husband and I wen to a flea market yesterday, and then a yardsale! We were on a date. So the rest of the weekend will be spent mostly at home. Cleaning up odds and ends that we don’t normally get to. Our kids are grown and even though two still live at home, they are not around as much. Usually we have the grandboy but his mom kept him this weekend. I would possibly be sad if I dwelled on all this, but Im just concentrating on the happy stuff and having my husband all to myself.

I had a four day weekend too! Friday, I had lunch with my husband at his work and then did the normal errands. Yesterday was date night (well, day) for us. We went to the movies, lunch and then relaxed at home. Today and tomorrow will be spent doing some household chores and grilling alot! Depsite the yucky weather here in CA, I still want to bbq!!

It was pouring rain yesterday, I have been spending the last several days spring cleaning, getting ready for homeschool book sale and garage sales! It feels really good!

We just have a 3 day weekend here, but it’s much appreciated!!
Saturday, we ran errands, deep cleaned, and then had a small impromptu gathering of friends. Good thing I stocked up on cookout ingredients! Grilled corn on the cob for the first time, and despite being burnt on one side, it was amazing!
Today we’re being lazy, got a few friends and family over to hang out…gonna grill out chicken later today and I’m about to make a strawberry dessert/cake of some sort, came here to look for a good recipe to use 🙂
Then tomorrow, will be more relaxation and more family time. It’s mother-in-law’s birthday. Going to have her over for red chicken chili (I add so much salsa and tomatoes, it’s not red, not white! LOL) It’s supposed to be almost 100 here tomorrow, so I’m utilizing the crock pot and don’t want to grill again and stand over an open flame!!
Couldn’t ask for a much better weekend!!

We have a 3 day weekend and the first weekend in months with nothing on the calendar! So it’s been a “work in the yard” kind of weekend. We’ve grilled out, dodged storm, hit the grocery store and got the kids in the pool. The yard looks amazing and today’s feast is a smoked turkey done by my hubby-he’s awesome witht he smoker!
