Books, Reading, and Food

Do you love books and reading? I know you come here for recipes and kitchen tips, but not only do I love food and cooking, I also love books and reading.

Today, I am going to do something that I do not do very often; in fact, I think it has been a couple of years since I talked about it, and that is I am going to talk about our book website.

Several years ago my daughter and I started a book website called From Our Bookshelf, where we talk about books and share book reviews.

She was in high school at the time and read a lot. She went to college, and her love of reading continued. She is now a middle school English teacher and a writer, so she still loves reading and books.

I have always been a big reader, but as my kids got older and I had more time, I began to read even more. I now read a wide range of books and most years I read around one hundred books.

Since both of us love reading, our book website has been a fun project.

We now have over eight hundred book reviews, plus a lot of book lists, bookish information, and more on our site.

This time of year is always fun because we share all kinds of holiday bookish things, so I thought it would be a good time to share more about From Our Bookshelf with you.

We recently shared a huge nonfiction book gift list. If you love nonfiction books or have someone on your gift list who does, I think you will find a book or two.

We also shared a list of books that read like a Hallmark Christmas movie.

We share book lists like books about WWI, historical fiction books about WWII, true crime books, and more.

Every month, I also share what I have been reading, and Grace loves to write about reading and writing in posts like why I read everywhere.

And I occasionally share a Sunday Reading post where I share Christian books that I have enjoyed.

If you love books and reading we would love to have you join us.

We have a newsletter called The Bookmark. We are also on Instagram and Facebook. And have a Facebook group where talk books and reading.

Thank you for letting me talk about my love of books and reading today.

Tomorrow we will be back to food and recipes!
