Homemade Pepperoni Rolls

Pepperoni Rolls Homemade Pepperoni Rolls are a recipe I shared during my first year of blogging. Way back in 2008.

I started blogging in February 2008 and shared this recipe in August 2008. I can’t believe I have been blogging that long. It has gone by so fast.

Things have changed a lot in the blog and online world since 2008. And not only has the online world changed, my family’s diet has chanced quite a bit with me going gluten free and my daughter developing her peanut, tree nut, sesame allergy.

My archives are full of recipes that are great recipes that my family loved and made for years. Many of the recipes we can still have or still make with some minor changes. Some of the recipes though are ones we can no longer have. But just because we can’t have them doesn’t mean they are not great recipes. There are many recipes that I shared in my early days of blogging that my family loved and now misses.

So, I plan to occasionally highlight some of these recipes from my archives. Because recipes are meant to be shared not be hidden way deep in the archives of my site where no one sees them.

Today I thought I would start with these pepperoni rolls. My family loves these. I have not quite perfected a gluten free version, but when I do I will be sure to share it. The regular version though is delicious.

They are not hard to make and kids love them. They work great for pizza night and also for making ahead and freezing for quick and easy dinners. If you are looking for a dinner your kids will love you should try pepperoni rolls!

you can make an easy stromboli this way, too. layer some Italian lunch meats–capricola (substitute tavern ham if you can’t find the capricola) and genoa salami (throw on some pepperoni, if you like), use slices of provolone or mozzarella (or just use shredded cheese). sprinkle a bit of Italian seasoning on before you roll–I like Sons of Italy, but I think it’s a regional brand, so any quality brand will do. after rolling, sprinkle some Italian seasoning on. bake for 20-30 minutes, until a nice golden brown. allow to rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with marinara sauce.

That sounds really good! Thanks for sharing what you do. Before going gluten free I loved to make Stromboli, pizza pockets, calzones, etc. They are all great meals that kids love.
