Orange Chicken

I do not fry food very often. It is time consuming, messy, and very bad for you. I try to avoid recipes and foods that require frying. Occasionally though, I will fry something for a treat. I recently saw a recipe that I really wanted to try that required frying, it was Sandra’s Orange Chicken. I decided this one would be worth the time, mess, and fat it would require.

I put it on the menu for last week and gave it a try. When I saw this recipe, I knew right away it was something I wanted to give a try. This recipe does not have orange in it. I think it gets the name from the color. I was hoping for a dish similar to what you have in a restaurant. I was not disappointed. This was really good.
Frying the chicken before you cook it in the sauce gives it great texture. I think the cornstarch is the trick. I am going to try this same idea for frying with other oriental type sauces. This recipe is one I will be making again.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it, it’s one of our favorites and yes it’s time consuming and I don’t make fried foods too much, but this one is worth it 🙂
