Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce

I have shared before that my husband has quite a hot sauce collection. What can I say, I collect cookbooks and he collects hot sauces…….well not really, but he does have quite a few hot sauces in the house as you can tell from the picture. And this picture is old, so I think we have added a few to our collection.

One of my husband’s favorite hot sauces has to be Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce.

Whenever I post a picture of a recipe that has Sriracha hot sauce in the background, I always get comments and emails about it, so I finally decided it was time to give Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce a post of it’s own.

If you like hot sauce and spicy foods and have never tried Sriracha, you really need to give it a try. It is one of the most used hot sauces in our house.

My husband uses it on fried rice, egg drop soup, broccoli beef, Asian Soup, eggs and rice, chicken and bacon lo mein, breakfast fried rice, really anything that is at all Asian type food. He loves it and uses it all the time.

It adds the perfect amount of flavor and heat to many different foods. And the best part is that this bottle of hot sauce is really not expensive at all. It costs only a few dollars and is usually found with the other Asian foods at the grocery store.

Now, I know there are some other Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce lovers out there, so I would love to hear your favorite thing to use it on?

My husband uses hot sauce on everything and is happy to proclaim that Sriracha saved his life. Me, not a hot sauce person.

There are very few foods that this wonderful hot sauce doesn’t enhance! Great flavor, great price, what more is there?

I use it to flavor mexican foods, eggs, hot chocolate, tuna salad, sushi, etc.

So good and I didn’t even know if existed until a few years ago. 🙂

I discovered Srirachi first at a chinese place and fell in love with it. I agree its good on asian dishes. When I just read about your eggs and rice, that really sounded good. So I bought some the other day and I have leftover rice from last night. So can you guess what I’m going to make in a few minutes??? LOL

I like it on creamy dishes, like mac & cheese. Even tried it on the box stuff once with an extra sprinkle of Parm. Mmmmm…

I put it on everything from eggs to soup to casseroles. It doesn’t even have to be an Asian meal. My husband recently suggested putting it on pizza!

My husband uses Sriracha on just about everything. Sometimes I have to ask him to at least please TRY the meal I’ve made without it first to see if he really “needs” it. But I think he’s so used to spicy foods that he likes it on so many things. Me, on the other hand, I’m a total spice wimp and even simple salsas are too much for me!

My husband puts hot sauce on everything as well. When we were first married it drove me crazy, because I thought he did not like what I was cooking and he did that to cover up the taste, but I have learned that he just likes everything spicy. And me I am like you and a bit of a wimp. I will eat things a little spicier than I used to, but nothing like my husband and son like.

Hi Lynn, I love, love, love spicy foods and this sauce specially. I introduced it to my husband and he now loves it as well. I add to all Asian dishes we cook, and even to hotdogs, instead of ketchup 🙂

Thanks for the post, funny to see how popular this sauce is.

My hubby loves this stuff too!! Does Sirachi need to be refrigerated? We had a bottle of it that turned brown and couldn’t find anything on the label about refrigerating it.

We keep ours in the fridge, but I am not sure if you have to or not. We just always have.

As I mentioned above my husband loves hot sauce on everything! Sriracha is his favorite too. He wanted me to tell you to tell your husband he must try his other most favorite spicy condiment, Mike’s Hot Honey https://www.mikeshothoney.com/Home.html
We have no affiliation with them but my husband LOVES this stuff.

I use hot sauce in a lot of dishes to replace salt because my husband needs a low sodium diet. It’s amazing how a couple drops of hot sauce can have such a huge difference and not at all taste spicy.

Goodness, I came over to comment from my reader because my husband is the same way – he loves his basket of hot sauces and Sriracha is probably his favorite – and then read all the other comments about other hubs the same! Is this the current “male thing?” 🙂 And I do also wish he’d try the food first…but he usually doesn’t, ’cause he likes it spicy, too. Oh well- it’s not a big deal in the big picture is it? 🙂

We also use it in our breakfast burritos ilo salsa and our newest find, meatloaf sauce. I top my meatloaf with a ketchup based sauce that now has a splash of Sriracha in it. I also add a couple dashes to the meatloaf mix itself

Besides all the savory dishes it goes well with (all of you have such great ideas!), it goes great on fruit. No kidding. I had some oranges, pears, and apples that were just a little past their prime. I cut them up into bite-sized chunks and put on the Sriracha. Wow! Another time I put it on leftover pineapple, pears, and walnut halves. Add some spinach and you’ve got a salad.

I have not used this brand before, but have put a bit of hot sauce in the filling for my deviled eggs.

My husband actually does have a hot sauce collection. Everytime family or close friends go on vacation they come home w/ a new hotsauce for him. We probably about about 50 different kinds (at least) right now. Most are unopened and ‘on display’ on top of our kitchen shelves but we do have some that he actually uses and Sriracha is a staple in our house.

Hi Lynn, just had to comment. I first heard of this sauce about 2 weeks ago while viewing a video on Oriental Rice at the Crockin’girls.com website. Had never heard of the sauce before. I’m the only one in my household who likes hot stuff, well, not real hot stuff, but I do like this. So was very surprised when I read your comment about same sauce : ) Oh, keep up the good work – have been enjoying your newsletters/recipes.
