Happy Thanksgiving and A Few Thoughts

Dairy Free Pumpkin Pie

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. A day for giving thanks. So, today I decided to share a few thoughts that are on my mind this year about Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is not about picture perfect meals. It is not about picture perfect family and friends.

It is about being thankful. Thankful for the food. Thankful for the friends and family. It does not matter how imperfect the meal is, or how imperfect the people around it are, there is still much to be thankful for.

So often we long for that perfect holiday family meal that we see in magazines and on tv. Do you know what though? That is so often not reality.

None of us are perfect. None of our families are perfect. Life isn’t perfect, but there is still so much to be thankful for.

Your Thanksgiving may be small and quiet and I am sure there is still much to be thankful for.

Your Thanksgiving may be a big, messy, loud, gathering of family that don’t always get along. In the middle of that mess, I am sure there is much to be thankful for.

And being thankful is so much more than one day a year. Yes, we focus on it each year on Thanksgiving Day, but thanksgiving should be something we do each and every day.

One of the many things I am thankful for is you. This site would not be what it is without my readers. So thank you for following along on my kitchen adventures.

I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
