A Long and Tough Weekend

I have had a long weekend. On Friday night my husband’s grandfather passed away. He was 91 years old. Two weeks ago he fell and broke his hip. I think we all knew he probably would not recover from the fall. After all he was 91 years old, but that did not make the last two weeks easy. He has not been in the best […]

Staff Lunch Time Again

I fixed another staff lunch today. I did not have a lot of time this week, so I sent a pretty simple meal. I made my Chicken Taco Soup and sent it in a crock pot to cook all morning at the office. I also sent some tortilla chips and salad. (sorry forgot to take a picture of those) I also sent these. Mint Brownies […]

Three Kids and A Lunch

Three Kids with three different tastes means three different sandwiches and that means it takes mom three times longer to fix lunch. Three different answers is why I don’t usually ask my kids what they want for lunch. And yes that is unhealthy store bought potato bread and potato chips I am feeding my kids for lunch.

Baking and Freezing Food

The last couple of weeks have been a bit crazy for me. We have had two rounds of sickness, quite a few Dr.’s appointments, shopping trips, piano lessons, homeschooling, etc. Just when I think life is going to slow down, something else comes up. I have decided that craziness is part of life or at least part of life in the stage that I am now in. I guess I need to […]

Fall

Warning, this is one of those non-food posts that I occasionally do. I wanted to take a brief break from food posting to talk about fall. I love fall. It is my favorite time of year in Oklahoma, and this year we are having some real fall weather. Some years it is still quite warm in September, but this year has been great. We have […]

Gluten Free Melt Down

Yesterday I had a major meltdown, seriously I stood with my pantry door open looking at all the food I could not eat and cried. This gluten free diet is more challenging than I thought it would be. Temporary or not this is hard. I feel like I am learning to cook and eat all over again. I had no I idea how much stuff contained wheat, […]

A Glimpse Into Real Life

There is no menu plan this week. I needed a break from menu planning to step back and figure out a few things. Last week’s plan did not go at all as planned and to be honest I am not sure what this week’s meals will look like. The name of my site is “Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures” and over the next few weeks I will […]

Time For The Office Lunch Again

My husband’s office had another lunchtime staff meeting, so I made lunch again for them. The last meeting was the end of May and I know I still have not posted all the recipes. I hope to post those and today’s recipes in the next few weeks. But in the meantime here is what I took today. Chicken fajita salad- All I did for this was layer […]

I went to the peach orchard today. Any guesses what I will be doing this week? Several great peach recipes coming soon…..
