Stocking your freezer with easy kid friendly meals will make busy days easier!

We all want to serve our family home cooked meals, but getting food on the table can sometimes be a challenge with crazy schedules.

This week I want to help you save time in the kitchen. I want to help make your busy life easier with some easy freezer meal ideas.

Today we are covering freezer meals for dinner.

Spending a few hours here and there stocking your freezer is well worth the time it takes. It makes crazy days so much easier because you can just pull a meal out of the freezer.

It also helps you avoid the drive thru, which will save you money and help you eat healthier.

If you don’t have a lot of time for freezer cooking, just double recipes on the days that you can and put the extra one in the freezer.

If you are making chili just make an extra batch and freeze it. If you are making a pasta casserole make two and freeze one. You don’t need a full day to stock your kitchen. You can easily do it without spending a lot of time.

Now for some of my favorite easy freezer meals!

Freezer Burrito Casserole

Freezer Burrito Casserole is an easy dinner to make several pans of. I almost always make two of these and we have one for dinner and I freeze the other one.

5 ingredient freezer burritos

Freezer Burritos– This recipe one of my son’s favorite things for me to keep in the freezer.

homemade frozen breakfast burritos

Homemade Frozen Breakfast Burritos– Another one of my son’s favorite things for me to keep in the freezer. He will eat these for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Chicken Burrito Casserole

My Chicken Burrito Casserole also freezes well.

Gluten Free Meatloaf

Meatloaf is always a great freezer meal. I like to cook it and then freeze it, but you can just as easily make it, form it into a loaf, freeze it, and then cook it when you are ready to serve it. This is my favorite meatloaf recipe.

Meatballs are another great freezer meal. You can freezer then cooked or uncooked. They work great because you can serve them so many ways. With sauce over pasta, for meatball sandwiches, with bbq sauce over them, and more. This is my favorite meatball recipe.

I have been making taco pasta for years and it freezes very well. Make one for dinner and freeze one for two easy meals your family is sure to love!

Spoon Burgers

Sloppy joes are a favorite in my family! We love them over bread, buns, or baked potatoes. They are an easy recipe to make in a big batch and freeze in zip top bags. My spoon burgers are a nice change from regular sloppy joes.

Chili is another meal I freeze all the time. I have lots of different versions that I make, but we love my slow cooked chili and my slow cooked chili without beans.

Crock Pot Taco Soup

Soups like taco soup are always great to keep in the freezer. You can freeze them in large containers for a full meal or smaller containers perfect for taking for lunch.

homemade slow cooked refried beans

It is no secret that we love Mexican type food and my freezer almost always has taco meat, salsa chicken, and homemade refried beans in it. With those things in the freezer I can easy put together tacos, taco salad, taco bowls, enchiladas, nachos, and so many other meals.

Freezer Baked Oatmeal

Baked Oatmeal– Yes, you can freeze baked oatmeal. It works great for breakfast or breakfast for dinner.

Keeping a freezer full of meals has saved me so much time and money over the years. We avoid the drive thru and eat so much healthier with a well stocked freezer!

I love to freeze casseroles. Since I only feed 3 people most days, a whole casserole is too much for one meal. Usually I split one casserole into two square baking pans, one for our meal and one to freeze for later. So I don’t forget what is what, I use a Sharpie to write the date, recipe name, and cooking instructions directly on the foil covering the dish. Once in a while I catch my mom stealing a particularly good half casserole for her monthly ladies’ group pot luck! 😀
