Freezer French Toast

I will start by saying this recipe is NOT healthy and I do not fix it often. It is a treat for my family. It makes a good holiday meal since it can be made ahead of time. I recently made it when we had company. It works great for a breakfast for company because it can be made a head of time and frozen. […]

Making Pancakes Healthier

I have been experimenting with making a healthier version of one of my favorite pancake recipes. I tried this one and knew it was a hit when no one in the family noticed that it was healthy. They just ate them like normal. I recently bought some of Bob’s Red Mill 10 grain flour. I want to try to add a little bit of it […]

A New Favorite Granola

I have been trying out different granola recipes over the last few months. I think we now have a new favorite. The original recipe came from allrecipes but I tweaked it a little. You can really change this recipe around to your tastes. Add raisins or other nuts, dates, or coconut. I even think some peanut butter would be good. I hope you enjoy

Homemade Waffles

Need an easy homemade breakfast that your kids will love? Make homemade waffles.  Homemade waffles are so much better than the store bought frozen kind. Yes, I know the frozen ones in the box are easy, but homemade is almost always better.  I think I was an adult the first time I had those famous frozen waffles. I am pretty sure it was after I […]

Jasmine Rice

I found a new way to cook rice. Well, not new but new to me. I saw a recipe on Martha Stewart where they cooked Jasmine Rice in coconut milk (not cream of coconut but coconut milk). It sounded like it would be very good. I did an Internet search to find a recipe. I found this one at 101 cookbooks. I think that one […]

Biscuits

One day last week I needed a bread item to go with our dinner. I did not have a lot of time to make something. I also had some heavy cream that was several days pasted the expiration date that I needed to use. I had remembered seeing a recipe for biscuits made with cream instead of butter. I decided to give it a try. […]

Reheating Waffles

I like to double or even triple my waffle and pancake batters and cook them all up at once. I then freeze them and heat them as needed. We used to just put them in the toaster to reheat. However, with three kids this takes awhile, by the time the 3rd child’s waffles are done the 1st child’s are cold. We like to eat all together, […]

Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

I have been making these pancakes for years. They are a favorite in our family and we eat them almost every Saturday.
